Approach to Physiotherapy
I take a holistic and creative approach to health and fitness. I believe that therapy should be as enjoyable, and therefore as engaging as possible. My community work focuses on person-centred goals and I spend time understanding what really matters to the client. It may be that walking itself is the priority, but it may be that getting outside, even in a wheelchair achieves the objective and allows a level of activity otherwise denied.
Why I Love What I Do
My diverse career has allowed me to impact lives in many ways, from helping athletes on the rugby pitch to enhancing dignity in end-of-life care. I'm passionate about finding innovative solutions that improve the quality of care, and have created a new care product (the pobroll®) to assist with care of the bed-bound person.
Fun Fact
I'm one of the pioneers of women's rugby and was in the very first England squad (Red rose no 16) as well as playing for Richmond in the first ever women’s match at Twickenham, featured on a question of sport back in the 80’s!
Hobbies/Interests
My main passion is dancing. I help to run a Modern Jive club in St Dennis and teach beginners lesson on occasions. I also love cold water swimming (in the sea where possible), walking around the Cornish countryside, and spending time with my four grown-up daughters.
Physiotherapy Tip
Never miss a chance to dance!
