Knee Conditions
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injury
ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the ACL in the knee joint, often from sports or trauma. Rehabilitation may include strengthening exercises, balance training, and possibly surgery depending on the severity.
Baker's Cyst
A Baker's cyst is a fluid-filled swelling behind the knee, often caused by underlying knee joint conditions. Treatment may involve addressing the underlying cause and managing symptoms with rest and exercises.
Degenerative Meniscus
Degenerative meniscus refers to wear and tear of the meniscus over time, leading to pain and stiffness in the knee. We'll work on strengthening exercises and techniques to manage symptoms and improve knee stability.
Fat Pad Impingement
Fat pad impingement involves irritation or inflammation of the fat pad below the patella (kneecap), causing anterior knee pain. We'll use techniques to reduce inflammation and improve knee function.
Femoral Nerve Radiculopathy
Femoral nerve radiculopathy (rah-dik-yoo-LAH-puh-thee) involves compression or irritation of the femoral nerve, causing pain and weakness in the thigh and sometimes the knee. Treatment may include exercises and therapies to relieve pressure on the nerve.
Iliotibial Band Syndrome
Iliotibial (il-ee-oh-TIB-ee-ul) band syndrome involves pain on the outside of the knee due to inflammation or tightness of the iliotibial band. We'll work on stretching, strengthening, and techniques to alleviate symptoms and prevent recurrence.
Knee Osteoarthritis
Knee osteoarthritis is the wear and tear of the knee joint cartilage, leading to pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. We'll focus on exercises, joint protection techniques, and therapies to manage symptoms and improve knee function.
Knee Replacement Surgery
Knee replacement surgery involves replacing a damaged knee joint with an artificial one. We'll guide you through post-surgery rehabilitation to help you regain strength, mobility, and independence.
Meniscus Injury
A meniscus injury involves tearing of the cartilage in the knee joint, causing pain, swelling, and sometimes locking of the knee. We'll focus on exercises and therapies to reduce pain and improve knee function.
Osgood-Schlatter Disease
Osgood-Schlatter disease is a condition causing pain and swelling below the kneecap in children and adolescents, often during growth spurts. We'll focus on managing symptoms with activity modification and strengthening exercises.
Patellar Tendinopathy
Patellar tendinopathy, or jumper's knee, is inflammation or degeneration of the patellar tendon below the kneecap, causing pain with activities like jumping or running. We'll focus on exercises to strengthen the tendon and reduce pain.
Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
Patellofemoral pain syndrome involves pain around or behind the kneecap, often due to overuse, poor alignment, or muscle imbalance. We'll focus on exercises to improve muscle balance, alignment, and reduce pain.
