Shoulder Conditions
Acromioclavicular Joint Injury
An acromioclavicular (uh-KROH-mee-oh-KLAV-ik-yoo-lur) (AC) joint injury affects the joint at the top of your shoulder, usually from a fall or impact. This can cause pain and a noticeable bump. With the right treatment, we can reduce your pain and improve shoulder function.
Biceps Tendinopathy
Biceps tendinopathy is irritation or damage to the tendon that connects your biceps muscle to your shoulder. This can cause pain in the front of your shoulder. We'll focus on reducing the inflammation and strengthening the area to help you recover.
Calcific Tendinopathy
Calcific tendinopathy is when calcium deposits form in the tendons of your shoulder, causing pain and inflammation. We'll use specific techniques and exercises to help dissolve the deposits and reduce your pain.
Frozen Shoulder
Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, happens when the shoulder joint becomes stiff and painful, limiting your range of motion. It can be frustrating, but with patience and the right exercises, we can gradually improve your mobility and reduce pain.
Post Shoulder Surgery
After shoulder surgery, it's crucial to follow a tailored rehabilitation programme to regain strength and mobility. We'll guide you through each step of your recovery, ensuring you rebuild your shoulder function safely and effectively.
Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy
Rotator cuff tendinopathy occurs when the tendons in your shoulder become irritated or damaged, often from overuse. This can cause pain and weakness, but with specific exercises and treatments, we can help restore your shoulder function.
Shoulder Dislocation
A shoulder dislocation happens when the upper arm bone pops out of the shoulder socket, often from an injury. It can be quite painful, but once it's back in place, we’ll focus on strengthening the muscles around your shoulder to prevent future dislocations.
Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement occurs when the tendons or bursa in your shoulder get pinched during movement. This can cause pain and limit your arm's range of motion. We'll work on exercises to create more space in your shoulder and reduce the impingement.
Shoulder Osteoarthritis
Shoulder osteoarthritis is the wear and tear of the cartilage in your shoulder joint, leading to pain and stiffness. While we can't reverse arthritis, we can use exercises and treatments to manage your pain and keep your shoulder as mobile as possible.
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Thoracic outlet syndrome, affecting the area between your collarbone and first rib, can cause shoulder pain, numbness, and weakness due to nerve or blood vessel compression. We'll develop a plan to relieve this pressure and improve your symptoms.
